The workshop on ​“Fashion Choreography” was conducted for B. Des and M. Des students Department of Fashion Design, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences on 7 February 2024 and 8 February 2024. A Fashion Choreographer is the bridge between the models and the designer and is also the person who not only gives shape to the vision of the designer but also shapes the dream of the stylist by deeply addressing the theme, mood, and feel of the show. The resource person Shri Santosh Kumar Naik is an eminent Image Consultant, Fashion & Lifestyle Influencer and Public Speaker. The workshop mainly focused on fashion choreography and demonstrated all the various practical skills required for fashion show, modelling and personality development. Fashion choreography consists of various movement patterns for the models to walk on the ramp and the steps are matched with a piece of music selected by the designer which adds rhythm to their walk. Choreographer Santhosh Kumar Naik also taught the students to walk with confidence and grace and also gave insights on how to emphasize the designed garment worn by them on the ramp. The simple way to do that is not to be too stiff or dramatic. The fashion design students practiced the various techniques of walking and posing that are required for a successful fashion show. In the end, the students acquired great knowledge and information and also enjoyed the experience thoroughly.
