Visit to Nav Prabhuthi Unit


Department of Fashion Design organized a visit to Nav Prabhuthi Unit, 344, 5th Main, BEML Layout, Basveswarnagar, Bangalore on 22 February 2023. II and IV semesters B. Des Fashion and II semester M. Des fashion Design students visited the unit and practically observed the block printing process. The expo accompanied by faculty members Ms. Smitha and Ms. Asleesha B. Students learned about hand block printing techniques using various print pastes. Block printing is the process of printing patterns by means of engraved wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest, and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Block printing by hand is a slow process. It is, however, capable of yielding highly artistic results, some of which are unobtainable by any other method. Students had exposure to innovative accessory development using block printing techniques.
