Department of Fashion Design organized a visit to ​“HarshaKala National Handloom Expo- 2023” at H. M. T Main Road, Jalahalli village, Bangalore on 10 February 2023. II and IV semester B. Des Fashion visited the expo accompanied by faculty Nagaveni K. The visit helped the students in grasping the practical aspects of heritage textiles of India, including the designing of fibers, yarns, and fabrics. The designs were developed by weaving, dyeing, printing, embroidery, and embellishments on the surface of the fabrics. The techniques and methods used for the development of handloom textiles were unique. Students had exposure to the uniqueness of workmanship in terms of type of fibre, weaving design, dyeing, printing, and surface design on the fabric.
