Five Days Value Added Course on ​“Conventional and Comprehensive Textiles, Apparels and Fashion for Time Ahead” was held from 21 to 25 November 2022. The course was organized by the department of fashion design, FAD, Ramaiah Technology Campus, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore. The topics discussed during the course were Fashion accessories and painting, practical issues related to the fashion industry and media, clo3d the fashion design software, bioactive textiles, and business development and branding through social media. The course gave practical exposure to Tanjore painting techniques by Smt. Geetha is a well-known Fevicryl-certified artist. Students were also acquainted with Clo 3D software for designing of fashion silhouettes, virtual interpretation of designs, and application of software in portfolio development and presentation by Ms. Pavithra Basilica, Founder of ​‘The Pattern hub’ and a Freelancer of bioactive textiles. Students learned to convert individual strengths to business ideas, start-ups, basics of business development plans and promotional activities, and the importance of communication in business through the case studies shared by Mr. Bala Kumar, Founder, and CEO of Brand story, Students were exposed to practical issues in the handling of event management, on stage and off stage preparations, challenges to be faced and the process to overcome the issues.
