Faculty Development Programme on "Re-Defining and Re-Shaping of Future Fashion using Textile Wearable’s and Digital Technology”


Two days Faculty Development Programme on Re-Defining and Re-Shaping of Future Fashion using Textile Wearable’s and Digital Technology” was organized by the Department of Fashion Design, Faculty of Art and Design, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences on 22 and 23 December 2022 in online mode. Resource persons Dr. Kantaraj T, Bangalore, explained to the participants regarding Textiles and Wearable’s”. The resource person said Wearable devices are the most popular IoT systems that have been adopted for personal use. The life of people is getting busier day by day and in this hustle, people overlook their fitness and health. There is hardly any industry left where IoT does not have its traces. 

Dr. Sheshadri Ram Kumar, Professor, Dept. of Nonwovens & Advanced Materials Laboratory, Texas Tech University, USA explained Research in Materials for Health and Environment” on 22 December 2022. Ram Kumar explained about Protective health care textiles and clothing, PPE, Sense, Shape, Shield and Sustain, research landscape, technical textiles, Basic, Applied, Translational and Entrepreneur research, etc. The resource person also explained the importance of collaborative interaction with various disciplines like the Biotechnology, Medical, Pharmacy, and Engineering sectors. Resource person Mr. Sudarsan Rajagopalan, Principal — Business Navigation and Innovation explained about the importance of technical, medical textiles, various product development, etc. on 23 December 2022. The faculty Development program helped all the participants.
