Department of Fashion Design organized a visit to the ​“International Garment Technology Expo – 2022” on 8 October 2022 for Under Graduate and Post Graduate Fashion Designing students. Garment Technology Expo is South East Asia’s most comprehensive Apparel production technology show Organized in Bengaluru because Bengaluru is the nerve center of garment and made-up fabrication in southern India. Bengaluru region is having biggest RMG production & export hub with 1200 factories and employing more than 5, 00,000 workers. Most major textile hubs and many popular destinations of South India are conveniently connected with Bengaluru by overnight/​day road and/​or rail services.

The show had live demonstrations which covered all segments of the industry; right from the latest technology machines to machine spares & consumables; from infrastructure set-up to the latest processes & systems; from raw materials to trimmings & embellishments; from logistics & packaging solutions to trade communication and documentation services. Professionals like manufacturers, exporters, institutions, and other volume consumers participated in the expo. This visit helped the students to update their knowledge of new technologies, materials, the latest product launches, and new innovations.
