Details
Ergonomics is an important consideration in the design of everyday products. It ensures a human-centric approach to design that delivers comfort in addition to functionality and aesthetics.
Equipped with measuring tablets, anthropometry measuring tools and scales, as well as products, the Ergonomics Studio at RUAS helps students familiarise themselves with the practical aspects of ergonomic design.
Students learn the fundamental principles of ergonomics, including the structure and function of the human body, posture, movement, biomechanics, and physiological and psychological aspects. They are trained in using anthropometry instruments and are also taught to read and understand the ergonomic data collected so as to apply the learnings in their product design.
